2021 Tata Safari!!! Name alike, Entirely Furbished | Karthik
Tata Safari!! as the name is enough to get idea about the Beast which was the King of SUVs in those days.
Along with the generation alot has changed in the field of technology and automotive industry, Tata motors is one of the evidence.
Tata introduced the Harrier, which was based on D8 platform of Land Rover, which is the same platform of the all new Safari 2021, infact it almost looks similar to the Harrier.

I got the chance to have a glance at this 2021 Safari, the Dimension is similar but the design and features are poles apart, you do not get a single sign of the old one except the name, Unlike the old Safaris, the new one gets FWD. there's no RWD nor 4WD/AWD on offer. It is rumored that, AWD maybe launched based on market demand, but I consider this as a false information as the company didn't announced this officially.
How it Looks?
The new Safari looks similar to the Harrier with identical dimensions, but gets some of the changes to make it appeal premium, the front grill has tri-arrow symbols with lot of chrome treatment and a chrome borders around headlights and DRLs too, the car looks slightly lifted and sturdy. the side profile looks exact like Harrier till the C pillar, the rear of the car is slightly increased to make space for the 3rd row passengers and you get functional roof rails with Safari badging on a chrome plate. the tailgate of the car is made upright to increase the boot space.
How it Feels?
The interior feels very much premium as like the Harrier, and everything remains same except the aircraft style handbrake lever replaced by the electric parking brake, which became quite hot topic to discuss, as some liked it some didn't.
you still get those multiple terrain drive mode control, The center console gets cupholders, cooled glove box below the armrest, the steering wheel remains identical and window controls too.
The rear seats are super comfortable, with best cushioning and position for long drives. with supportive air conditioning from all directions.
In the last row, seats are little congested and under thigh lacks so does the headroom, but its still manageable for short journeys for adults, and the best for the kids.
Specs and Features!!
The new safari is built on OMEGA arc platform and gets the standard ESP modes, Multiple Terrain Drive modes, auto hold, hill descent control, traction control, rear disc independent front, semi independent rear suspension. 72L, 447L , 910Lto 1658L boot space according to the seat configuration.
Sunroof, 9 speaker JBL sound system, auto climate control, cruise control, keyless entry, cornering foglamps, safety features like ABS, traction control, EBD, ESC, roll over mitigation and many more.
Engine
The Safari gets 2.0 Kryotec turbo diesel, putting out 170 PS and 350 NM with 6 speed Auto/manual Hyundai sourced gearbox, with FWD drivetrain, The performance is well matched.
Pricing ?
The price starts from 14.70 Lakhs ex-showroom for XE to 21.46 Lakhs for XZA plus adventure.
Overall Conclusion.
We have not driven the car yet, in short we will, but the overall I can say is the car is well built both practically and technically, the driving position is very much comfortable and adjustable, you feel that confidence in the position, and the cabin feels very practical and spacious.
Coming to the second row, the captain seats are extremely comfortable, you can sit to any extent of journey without feeling discomfort.
The last row has compromiseable Headroom and under thigh support, however the leg room, seat cushioning and AC support helps you to cover some extra miles.
Comparing it with rivals makes it the Best.
